Since establishing their own brand in 1987, Frank and Ellen Duran have become

renowned interior designers with an ever expanding reputation in both the Netherlands and abroad. From the very beginning, they have succeeded in creating unique and timeless interior design pieces.

A hallmark of Duran are handmade lampshades manufactured in their in-house atelier. To this day, Ellen designs and creates every lampshade by hand using premium quality fabrics and materials, offering customers a piece of authentic, timeless craftsmanship. Passionate about fabrics and materials, Ellen also creates exclusive lines of cushions made using materials from renowned fabric houses. Each cushions’ detailed and sophisticated style, colors and patterns are carefully chosen to form versatile collections. Ellen has successfully, and tastefully, coordinated each collection so they make a perfect addition to almost any interior.  

Duran’s most iconic designs include their coffee tables which are available with a vast range of Italian marble tops, the Esquina set of mirrors and the Valbonne lighting set. These classics are designed by Frank and Ellen themselves and fabricated by their passionate suppliers, attesting their close ties with the production process and enduring focus on authentic craftsmanship. This approach allows Duran to work closely with the customer, creating custom-made, unique pieces to fit any desired space. 

As a family business, the Duran journey continues with the next generation. Frank and Ellen’s son Maurits is part of the company and works alongside his parents. Being grateful for this opportunity, Maurits is inspiring the brand in their own unique way. Maintaining this family spirit, Duran is eager to evolve and progress as a brand, all the while staying true to its core values, never forgetting to live in the moment, and of course creating beautiful designs!
